Passport and Visa Information

Passengers are required To ensure that they have valid passports, the required visas and vaccinations in order to travel to their intended destination.

Travel Insurance

We strongly advise passengers to take out insurance against cancellation, curtailment, illness, injury or loss of baggage. Please ensure that you have travel insurance with adequate medical cover.

Village hours

• Retail Outlets: 09h00 - 12h00 and 14h00 - 17h00/18h00 - closed days vary by outlet
• Banks: 08h00 - 12h00 and 14:00 to 16:00 - closed on Saturday and Sunday
• Post Office: 08h00 - 12h00 and 14:00 to 18:00 - closed on Saturday and Sunday
• Supermarkets: 07h00/08h00 - 17h00/18h00 - closed Sunday, except in peak season open at certain times
  The above times may vary from outlet to outlet but please take note of the midday closing time.

Currency, Banks and credit cards

The euro is the currency of Austria and Italy.
Banks are generally open Monday to Friday and closed on weekends and public holidays. We recommend that you arrive either with cash or euro exchange traveler's checks at the airport on your arrival in Europe. Euro cash may be withdrawn from banks or ATMs using credit cards or bank cards with relevant international access. PIN number is required.
NB! : Please note that Snocomber does not accept credit card payments in the resorts. Payment by credit card in the resorts themselves is limited. Please make allowance for this in the form of traveler's checks or cash.

Cellular phones

Ensure that you have the international roaming facility in order to make and receive calls on your cellular phone. The necessary arrangements need to be made with your service provider prior to your arrival at the resort.

Laundry

Laundromat facilities are available in the resort and some properties have coin-operated machines.

Ski Clothing

Please arrive with suitable waterproof ski clothing. The hire of clothing is available in Livigno and is on a first come, first serve basis so availability of required sizes cannot be guaranteed. Arrival on Saturdays may be too late to purchase clothing.

Evening Dress

Casual. Evening entertainment activities require you to wear ski suits.
Please note that 5 - 12 March 2011 is known as "Fasching / Carnival Time". Bring a mask or dress-up outfit for carnival parties at this time of year.

Baby sitting

This can be arranged, subject to availability, and all costss will be for your account. The rate is negotiated directly with the babysitter but it is approx. Euro10.00 per hour depending on the time of year and the hours required. The availability of baby sitters can not be guaranteed.

Tipping

Tipping is generally accepted for services provided by waiters, room maids and ski instructors.
In restaurants, individuals and families may be billed separately. The common practice is to "round up" the bill to include a tip. Ski Instructors: generally Euro 10.00 per person in the ski group, after a week's lessons
Room maids: generally Euros 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 per week for the service of the room is appreciated.

Rubber-soled ankle-high boots (eg Caterpillar / Hi Tec or similar)
Bathing suits - most resorts have indoor pools
Hairdryer
Alarm clock.
Soap (some pension / hotels supply small bars only)
Apartments / Pensions / Hotels do supply towels, however, they are not bath sheets.
Apartments need to be left in the same condition as when they are found.

Some apartment owners will require a security deposit on arrival.
Electricity is 220 volts and 2 prong plugs are used on appliances.
